What’s A Holiday Cocktail Without Apple Cider?

“If you’re going to drink hot cocktails, the holidays are the perfect time to do it.”

Those are the words of Jeremiah Schenzel, Beverage Director at The Cocktail Club in Charleston, South Carolina, and he has the perfect cocktail to warm the bones at your next holiday get-together.

Jeremiah crafted a delicious holiday cocktail using hot homemade apple cider, dark rum, lemon juice and a taste of grapefruit that is sure to be the talk of your next party.

Homemade Crockpot Apple Cider

Ingredients:

  • 10 apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Tbsp freshly ground nutmeg
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 Tbsp allspice
  • Water to cover apples

Instructions:

1) Put sliced apples and spices into a crockpot and fill with enough water to cover the apples.

2) Set crockpot to low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours.

3) Remove apples and spices with a fine mesh strainer.
