Sweet Potato Biscuits: A Family Recipe
Granny Hester’s Sweet Potato Biscuits were created in Tracy Johnson’s Grandmother’s kitchen in 1943. In those days they used whatever they had in the kitchen to cook with. Granny decided to throw some sweet potatoes in her dough one day while making biscuits and they turned out great. In their facility in Fort Payne, Alabama they make over a million biscuits a year and use well over a hundred thousand pounds of sweet potatoes, all hand made.
