Stay in an adult-sized treehouse at this Carolina vineyard
Treehouses are a flagship of any childhood.
But chances are finding one big enough for an adult is challenging. That’s where Treehouse Vineyards in Monroe, N.C. comes in.
These treehouses are built specifically for adults. And the story behind the original one is enough to make your heart melt. Treehouse Vineyards co-owner Phil Nordan originally built a treehouse for his wife Dianne for them to escape to. Due to a sick parent, they were unable to leave the property without hiring a nurse. But the first treehouse Date Nite was close enough yet secluded enough to provide an escape for the couple. From there, the vineyard idea began to take shape. And today, the vineyard has three treehouses for you to stay in, including the original Date Nite treehouse by the hour or two overnight options.
Oh, and let’s not forget the wine. They grow muscadine grapes at the vineyard but produce a wide variety of wines from dry to sweet and red to white. Each wine gets its name from someone or something on the property, which makes wine tastings more of a unique storytelling experience.
