Southern Things We Love: The Red Dress Boutique

Hey everyone– We’re trying out a new series called Southern Things We Love.  The title hopefully speaks for itself.  We’ll be mentioning places, food, fashion, and pretty much anything else Southern that we are obsessed with.  See what you think!

What: The Red Dress Boutique

Where: 147 College Avenue; Athens, Georgia

Why We Love Them:

Molly W:  They have cute clothes, and I can generally find something here suitable for any occasion… whether it is game day or Easter or casual wear.  I find it reasonably priced for a boutique.  I also love the owner Diana Harbour’s personal story. She quit her day job, and slept on an air mattress for a year while she launched her boutique. She even made her first store racks herself, drawing from a metalsmithing class she took in college.  She’s a strong Southern woman who is killing it.

Dijana:  It is in the heart of Athens and, in my opinion, brings the best of Athens fashion into one place. They have amazing game day stuff and they do a great job of mixing new trends with classic pieces.  I also love that it’s named after something you wear on game days in Athens – a red dress!

What To Look For: Anything for UGA games! It’s well known in Athens that if you see something in red & black you need to snatch it up… before someone else does. The Red Dress also has a section on their website just for game day looks.
