Meet the voice of The Little Mermaid’s Sebastian the Crab and Broadway’s Mufasa, Camden Native Samuel E. Wright

We normally try to keep our video productions short and sweet but Mr. Wrights story of growing up in Camden, attending SC State College, and making it big in New York City was too good to cut down.

Meet Samuel E. Wright, though you’ve probably heard his voice before.  Perhaps best known as The Little Mermaid’s Sebastian the Crab, Wright was recently honored with the Key to the City from Camden, S.C. Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford.

In addition to his acting career, he and his wife Amanda established the Hudson Valley Conservative, a performing arts school located in Walden, NY where students are submerged in classes in music, theatre, filmmaking, and dance. He is currently focused on teaching, directing and inspiring today’s youth through his master classes, an audition only class Hudson Valley Conservatory.

Of course, we couldn’t have concluded our interview without some examples of Mr. Wrights voicework.
