This hoop jam mixes fun and fitness.

If you’re looking for a fun way to energize your workout routine, we found one activity that mixes fun and fitness. Hey Now Hooping hosts a Family Hoop Jam every second Sunday on The Great Lawn at New Orleans City Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.  And what’s more, they shared some great hula hoop tips with us.

Instructor and founder of Hey Now Hooping Jennette Ginsburg teaches hula-hooping techniques at the free monthly event. The event is open to all ages.

Ginsburg says she discovered hula-hooping as an adult through a workshop and fell in love with the activity. Now, she spreads the knowledge through hula-hooping events and classes in New Orleans.

She says People who have practiced baton, color guard and flag corp will find their skills translate really easily into hula-hooping. It’s also low impact, meaning the activity is easy on joints and great for injury prone people.

Start your hula-hoop workout with these tips Ginsburg shares in the video. Visit the website for more information on classes and other programs.
