This unassuming, flat pink-colored shack in famous downtown Charleston, South Carolina is home to soul food so delicious you’ll be coming back for seconds (and thirds).
Martha Lou’s Kitchen has been serving hearty soul food favorites just like momma used to make them for over 30 years. The menu is based on the traditional meat and three: Fried chicken, pork chops and fish, along with okra, mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage, Hoppin’ John, cornbread and much more.
For owner Martha Lou Gadsden, these are the kind of foods she grew up with. So she is sharing what she calls her “Sunday dinners” with Charleston foodies seven days a week.
