CHEESE STRAWS (Southern Crackers)
¼ pound white cheddar cheese, grated
1 ¾ all purpose flour
1 cup toasted pecans
¼ pound butter, softened
1 teaspoon salt
cayenne pepper, to taste
In a food processor, combine all of the ingredients and process until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Remove and place on a floured surface. With a rolling pin, roll out to about ¼ inch thick, cut into desired shapes. Preheat the oven to 350F. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden.
