Two things that always seem to be synonymous are the holiday season and the urge to give back to the community. It’s a time of year which can really bring out the best in the community.

#QueenCityWknd checked out two different organizations giving back in a big way in the Charlotte area – the Charlotte Rescue Mission and Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.

At the Rescue Mission, Carolina Panther Greg Olsen spent some time unpacking boxes of meals for families to enjoy while at the processing facility for OCC, thousands of volunteers are churning to deliver gifts to children across the globe.

If you’re looking to give back as well, we’ve got a list of a few places in the area which could use your help!
