This church puts out a display of more than 500 nativities from around the world

Is this the largest collection in the world?

Christmas is coming! And you can certainly tell at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  That’s where you’ll find a total of 585 nativities from around the world on display.

That’s right, nearly 600 nativity scenes!

Shelby Caldwell says the idea to display the scenes came from her parents. Her mother and father own more than 500 nativities they’ve collected while serving all over in the military.

Most of them are set up for the community to enjoy in the annual community display at the church in Cape Girardeau.

The goal is simple: give people a way to embrace the joy of this holiday season.

There is no charge for admission to see the display. Take a self-guided tour through the maze of nativity scenes on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.
